[livejournal.com profile] nanuk_dain, guess what's on SpikeTV! Yep. I'm watching our boys. *g* I didn't realize it was on, so I've only caught part of the marathon. The Breaking Point. *g*

Well, this is interesting. It looks like either LJ is under attack again, or my computer, which is only about 9 months old, is a piece of crap. I'd have moved to DW if I could have figured out how to import all my LJ entries. Looks like I'll need to hop to it.

People, people, people! Did no one go by the Breast Cancer Site on Friday, the 23rd? There were no free mammograms registering on the graph for that day!

And as for yesterday, only one???

Seriously? We're on the computer anyway. All it takes is a minute to visit and click.

So don't sit here reading this. Click on the link, and then click on the button.

Oh, and a very Merry Christmas/Happy Chanukah/Kwanzaa/Solstice to you all.

LJ makes me crazy. For some reason it sends duplicate notices when I comment on something someone writes or when someone comments on my entry.

The good thing about this? I get to put the second notice in the Stories file. *g*

I finished Part the Fifth of the gay vampire story, (although there are actually 9 parts so far. The numbered parts are from my MC's POV, and the lettered parts are in third person from secondary characters' POVs.) and I was so pleased with how that took off, especially with the holy water incident. Ty had mentioned visiting Father David and getting some. (I'd wanted him to bless tap water himself, but the Church frowns on that. ::sigh::) Hense the visit to his former parish. The woman who's accompanying him home (and thanks so much to [livejournal.com profile] wolfsbride for finding the term for her!) hands him the spare vial, which he puts around his neck. And then when they're attacked by the baddies, he has a way of defending himself. *g*

Go, Tinn. Go, Tinn. Go, Tinn. *cough*

Just one quibble for the season: All Romance is giving away a free read every day, and most of them are het! ::sigh:: I got two really good ones from Dreamspinner, so sign up for the newsletter if you haven't already. There are also other goodies, and today's is 30% off all e-books in the mystery/suspense genre.

Has anyone seen that commercial for Marshalls/Home Goods/whatever the other store is? Shoppers are dancing through the mall telling other shoppers to go to the stores they're pimping because the prices are so much better. One of the dancers grabbed my attention, and whenever one of those commercials comes on, I'll stop whatever I'm doing to watch just him. Too bad none of the other guys struck me. It would have been fun to slash them. However... maybe he has someone at home? *g*

We'll be off to Publix in a couple of hours to pick up tomorrow's dinner as well as some odds and ends. Well, a lot of odds and ends.

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Come on over to Dreamspinner Press and sign up for the newsletter! It's free, and there are some awesome offers! Discounts! Free downloads!

And did I mention it's free?

Don't just sit there reading this! Go take a look!

(right now I feel like Wills' sister Marti, with all her exclamation points. *g*)

I am so seriously bummed. Ryan Murphy skunked me again. The Glee Concert Movie was supposed to have Single Ladies on it. That was one of the reasons I was willing to give Glee another try.

Well, it's not on there, and I've had it. As God is my witness, I will never buy another thing Glee ever, ever again.

In the follow-up story I'll be writing to Call Me Church, one of my characters seems to have a weakness for the name Maude. When we first meet him as a young man, he’s driving a mare he’s named Maude. Later in the story, he has a ship’s cat, which he’s also named Maude. Is this going to confuse readers?

Hmmm I'll have Maude the cat have her kittens a week or so before the mutiny, and Charley can mention the Skipper always did like that name.

Okay, problem solved. As you were. *g*

Thank you for the snowman cookie, [livejournal.com profile] slyprentice! And also for the good wishes for my writing. Looks like there should be two books out next October. *g*

I received an email from Amazon today, and one of the offers was DVDs for $4.99. Well, of course I went to take a look.

Remember when Lord of the Rings first came out? Those DVDs cost a fortune. If I'd bought them then, I'd be ready to cut my throat, because LotR was there, in company with Hallmark and Lifetime movies.

There's no movie I want that badly that I can't/won't wait for it to be available at a more reasonable price.

Meanwhile, Glee continues to disappoint me. I had high hopes for the Christmas episode, but those hopes weren't met. I know that black and white sequence was supposed to be Artie's hommage to Judy Garland's special, but it just struck me as very dated and coy. Kurt and Blaine flat out annoyed me, and Rachel in those white gloves got on my last nerve. Earlier in the episode she sang River. I'd never heard it before, but now it seems that's all I hear.

Anyway, I taped it, and I'm waffling about copying it to DVD. Andrea Bocelli has a special on PBS tonight. I'll probably copy that instead.

Well, CenturyLink and AOL (and this includes AIM also) still refuse to play nicely. Fortunately, I've got a gmail account. If anyone with an AOL or AIM address needs to contact me, it's tinneantoo@gmail.com

Geez, this pisses me off. :-(

(And how appropriate is the music I'm listening to?)

After all this time, Emma, formerly known as The Thousand Nights and a Night of Emma Bradley, and ever after as Portal to Eden, has found a home! Barring acts of God, she should be available next October.

(I'm not stressed about the length of time, since I won't find out if Call Me Church is accepted until November of next year, and if it is accepted, won't be published until February of 2013! So what's ten months?)

If anyone with an AOL address is expecting a response from me, it's not going to happen. Apparently AOL and CenturyLink are having issues. *kicks them both, but mostly CenturyLink*

Yesterday was the Holiday Open Excerpt Day at LoveRomanceCafe, and I was able to put up excerpts from three published works as well as an unedited excerpt from Houseboat on the Nile. Very pleased about this.

I was also able to format Emma, ever after to be known as Portal to Eden, and she's winging her way to the publisher. Hopefully she'll be accepted. She needs to find a forever home. *g*

Meanwhile, I think I'll keep the title for the next Eden story as When I Saw Him. Considering it will reference each man Jake gets involved with, it should work.

BTW, if you're worried about the zombie apocalypse, check this out: it's only 1.75 mil!

Volkswagen got in touch with us to let us know the Wagon needed an oil change. So Bob called to make an appointment. It was for today. I didn't really want to go, but I went anyway.

When we got there, they took one look at the mileage and told us to come back in February.

Since we were there, Bob suggested we go take a look at the minivans at Honda next door, to see what they'd lease for. We looked at an Oddessy, and it would be $350+. We're paying that now, and I didn't see any reason to stay with that. But I happened to see an Accord leasing for $199. I said, "What about that?"

We took it for a test drive, and the salesman said, "What can I do to get this deal today?"

I told him we had about 15 months left on our lease that would have to go away, and we wanted the down payment thrown in. Now seriously? I thought he was going to laugh at me.

We've got a brand new Accord sitting in our garage, and we're paying $100 less. *g*

I feel bad about the minivan, but I'd never have driven it. Those things intimidate the hell out of me.

Yesterday was my last radiation treatment. I go back in a month to have the skin checked. Peeling started late last week, but no big deal.

What happened this morning? I got so light-headed I had to go lie down. I used to have reactions like this when I was seriously anemic. ::sigh:: Now it looks like I'll need to call my radiologist and see who he thinks I should contact. My GP? I'm still waiting for her to get back to me about the cough that plagued me for more than 2 months -- so I don't know about her. My gastro? I see her later this morning. Anyone else? Well, I'll have to make an appointment.

Meanwhile, it's the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

The next Sidebar, To Be Loved, is up on CRVBoy. Some pretty interesting things happen, if I say so myself. :-D

After this comes PS I Love You.

(There's just too much music in these to take down and have published, so I'll keep asking Robb to archive them here.)

Okay, so I'm in a bit of a fix. That sci-fi story I've been talking about? It's done, and it's grown to about 41k. However, before I can send it to the publisher, I need someone to look it over to make sure my choo choo hasn't jumped the tracks. For most of the 41k the sex has simply been mentioned in passing (i.e. Character A and Character C -- f/f -- were lovers back in the day, while Character A is in a relationship with Character B --f/m -- at this point.) However, toward the end there is a graphic f/f scene. I need to know if that's a whoa, what? incident.

Is anyone willing to take a look at it?

Mark Vincent interviewed me about the AR he and Quinn are appearing in, No One Should Be Alone, which is in Dreamspinner's 2011 Advent Calendar, I'll be Home for Christmas.

Come by and take a look. We both had fun. *g*
